The Joy of Mixed-Up Grandkids

I got to thinking about the Juneteenth post I wrote yesterday. My First Wife and I have nine (count ‘em, 9) grandkids. Collectively, they have these racial backgrounds.

Japanese, Italian, Anglo, Black, Chinese, American-Indian. And one who’s pretty like a little Mexican senorita. Que chula!

We’re Equal Opportunity Grandparents. We’re blessed. [Insert proud grin here.]

I was born and raised in a lily-white family. My brothers and sister have continued that. They have families so white they blind your eyes. Radiant. We’re blessed again.
