Still Celebrating Department

Our church had an outdoor church service on Sunday featuring a few Christian bands, an antique car show, some inflatable bounce-abouts for the kiddies; grass games like Frisbees and Laddertoss, lots of hot-off-the-grill hamburgers and hot dogs. (I grilled some hamburgers, but only 240.) Fortunately, our pastor gave the shortest sermon on record. So short in fact, that I couldn't get a picture of him preaching. Oh, well.

We did this in the park across from the church as an outreach to the neighborhood where our church is located. We also wanted one final celebration for the 4tha July weekend. Like most church services, everything was free—except the Ladies Ministries sold ice cream sundaes for a dollar. From most accounts, the three-hour “service” was a rip-roaring success. We hope that some of our neighborhood residents will find the time to join us regularly for indoor services, too.

Have you ever played Laddertoss? It’s fun—and challenging.
Not normally recommended for church time, however.

My First Wife (L) and a new friend!

Ice cream sundaes with all the trimmin’s were only a dollar.
This bowl is almost full the second time around.

Well, no matter what you see in this picture, we're not Baptists.

You're more than welcome to join us next Sundayor next 4tha July. I can't guarantee another short sermon, nor even any hot dogs. But I can pretty well guarantee a great blessing from the Lord, plenty of friendly fellowship and a lot of smiling faces.
