Project Black, Take 12

Everybody’s complaining about the heat. Well, it’s summertime, after all. But if it will help any, enjoy this photo from my Fence Collection. It’s out of focus because it was 18 degrees and breezy that day and I was shivering. So there. I took this on my lunch hour last December 28. It was a dark and stormy day.

(I drove by this fence the other day. I could hardly see it for all the pretty green stuff covering it.)

This is the last Project Black Photo. I ended the project the same way I started—with a fence. Scroll south to review all 12 Project Black entries. Thank you and gracias to everyone for so many kind comments. And please visit Anna Carson, our host.

Project Black, Take 9

Black Gospel

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name; and proclaim his salvation day after day.
Psalm 96:1,2

Project Black, Take 8

Some friends invited us over for Sunday dinner this week. I walked right into a bookcase full of vintage Black books. “Care for something to drink, Paul?”

“Uh, no thanks. Mind if I take a picture?”

“That’s a first,” I heard him say.

So I went back out to the car for my camera, came back in and took a brazillion pictures. Then we ate a nice salmon dinner. And the conversation was wonderfulrefreshing. Thank you, Richard and Inge.

Can you tell this is not a mirror image?

Project Black, Take 7

At the grocery store the other day, I spotted these black bottles up on top of the meat display counter. Who could resist such a Project Black opportunity like this?

Police Magic.....

See the black and white license plate number 1-3-3?
Okay, now watch carefully...

Ta-da!!

It's not really magic--just parking for two at the neighborhood donut shop.

(That's my little red pickup next to these motorcycles. It has black tires.)

Project Black, Take 5

I saw this dude with the black bike, the black helmet and the black clothes when I walked past the skateboard park the other evening. He fits well into Project Black, don'tcha think? I took several pictures of him. He's very good, with a great repertoire of tricks. What's remarkable is that this dude is well over 40, has teenaged kids, drives a big Lexus SUV...

Project Black, Take 4

My First Wife and I use a particular pharmacy, and there on the counter today was a Project Black photo op if I ever saw one.

Granddaddy, what's this? Oh, that’s a typewriter, Sweetie.

What’s it for? It’s for typing letters and things, nice and neat.

Does it have games?

Project Black, Take 1

The ever-creative Anna Carson is now hosting Project Black. Please visit Anna’s blog and join in the fun.

I'm compiling a computer folder of fence photos that I've taken on some of my walks. Now I’m deliberately out looking for interesting fences. In my first Project Black offering, you get two for one. These twin black fences protect the old Antioch Pioneer Cemetery in Merriam, Kansas. Many early Kansans are laid to rest there.

"The Light at the End of the Fence"

By the way, I hope to post many more fence photos later this year. Stay tuned.
