The Joy of…of…of…

First, My First Wife and I want to wish everyone a blessed Easter weekend. If you are Jewish, we hope you had a great Passover celebration. Praise the Lord for all He has done for us, from Egypt to Calvary.

This evening just after supper My First Wife said, “Hey, Hunny, let’s go get you a new pair of boots.” I reluctantly said, “Last one there has to pay!” and burst past her and out the door. As My First Wife was struggling up off the floor the phone rang. (I don't remember knocking her down, but...)

“Hunny! It’s Mike.” Mike is Our Favorite Son. He called to tell us he had just left the Master’s Tournament in Augusta, GA. A friend had given him a free ticket! A free ticket to the Masters! Well, we talked about that, let me tell you. A trip to the Masters is pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime event. He got to see all the “big boys” and is impressed with how the whole affair is orchestrated.

We’re so proud for him, because when he was growing up (in our house) he had to make some serious sacrifices. He did so quietly, and now here’s some more of his reward.

Well, wouldn’t you know it? My First Wife got into the store first cuz I was a gentleman and held the door for her. I had to pay for my boots. But My First Wife said, "Hunny, you're the kind of guy that just looks natural in a pair of boots. Those are nice looking boots and you look good in them."

Our Favorite Son had a nice trip to the golf course. We had a nice trip to the cowboy store.
