Projects Red 'n' Green; Late Entries

I didn’t get to participate in Anna Carson’s Red or Green projects earlier this year, so I'm playing a little game of Catch Up. Here are a few red and green photos I took this year while I was out walking. Remember, I was not aware of the color of the month, so whatcha see is whatcha get.

Vivaldi has his "Four Seasons"—and I have my "Three Seasons." This tree is across the street from a previous place of employment. Enjoy them all or pick a favorite.

Nice Photos Department

My First Wife and I went out walking Saturday. We visited The Big City Arboretum. Holy cow! What a treat! There were so many things to see and so many ways to turn—and so little time to get it all in—that pictures were pretty much out of the question. I'm going to pack a lunch pretty soon and go back just to take some photos.

But I did get this one. I like it.

Department of Beauty

Here in Pancake Flats, spring has finally sprung. Yee-haw. I went out to look at it the other day, and on my walk here’s a little of what I found along the way.

First, there was the annual dandelion convention.

Then there was a Parade of Pink Trees.

This Tu-color branch was the in the first tree...(I love Macro!)

Speaking of trees, these are Pear Trees protecting that little foot bridge.

And here's a another foot bridge watching over two baby Pear Trees.

Later, I spied a Tu-color Tulip... (Another great macro photo!)

She was out standing in her field...

Well, just before sundown, this cute little Dogwood Blossom offered me a hug.

And just after sundown, the day ended with this romantic full moon.

Light Bulb Moments Department

One day last autumn, I was driving along and spied a small appealing lake on private property. I stopped to take some pictures, but a ditch and some scrub and some fallen branches and a rickety chain link and barbed wire fence and a tall wooden fence and some trees and lots of muck and lots of litter just wouldn't get outta my way. It was nice and peaceful and the sun was shining brightly, but I about to miss a post card picture opportunity.

I said to myself, "Self, there's just got to be a way..." Aha! "Maybe there is a way," I said. "Maybe if I stand behind the wooden fence and hold the camera above it, I might...I just might...maybe..."

So that's what I did. I stood behind the wooden fence and I shot blind. I couldn't see the lake at all. With my arms stretched up over my head and my nose just inches from the fence boards, I took several pictures, most of which are a laugh-a-minute.

But this picture is so good! I gotta tell you I'm proud of it!
