Heart Department

I'm upset today because My First Wife went to a heart doctor yesterday. “…you’ll be here about 30 minutes.” Three hours later—after he hooked her up with hundreds of dollars worth of heart monitoring gizmos—her 30 minutes were up and she was good to go. “…and if this doesn't show us anything, then we’ll want to get a nuclear stress test.”

Is it just me, or do doctors conspire to create stress that affects our hearts to scare us into their offices to squeeze all our money out of us that creates stress that…? It’s a good racket, if you ask me. “…and we’ll see you then in ten days, Miz Nichols. Next!”

Well, it seems to me that if that heart doctor couldn’t find anything wrong with her, then there probably isn’t anything wrong with her.

She brought me a cup of coffee this morning. Fresh and delicious. Makes my heart feel good.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —Jesus
