I think that all two of my faithful readers know that Dad was a beekeeper, and that I lived among bees from the day I was born. And, yes, I've been worried about the loss of honey bees the past few years. I don't think I saw even one last year. (Sigh) I read recently that this loss of bees is cyclical, and that it has happened both in the US and Europe more than once. About 100 or so years ago/200 or so years ago and so forth. Hmmm.
Oh look! There! In my neighbor's yard! In all that lavendar! This is not a great photo. I took more than 20 shots and this the only one that is okay. But the bees are back and I'm happy.

I see them buzzing around my flowers every day. As long as they are not in my house4, I love seeing them!
Great pic ! We have more yellowjackets here. Bees are definitely a rarity.
I have some of that here and the bees are plastered all over it. It is Agastache... or Anise hyssop or Licorice Mint. It has so many different names. The blooms just seem to go on and on and on.... and the bees love it.
I just saw a piece on Good Morning America about the bees disappearing, and how it will affect our food supply. They didn't offer up any reasons as to why they are disappearing. Seems to be quite the mystery.Good to know it is cyclical.
We have some bees this year - and a lot of butterflies. How nice.
