100 Important Facts About Me and Mine

Here they are. The 100 things you hoped I wouldn't force on anyone. But I did a favor: I broke them down to twenty at a time, so you can take a break every once in a while. Sometimes I just can't get over how thoughtful I am.

Disclaimer. I'd like to maintain some semblance of credibility and integrity, so I'm confessing that three of the 100 statements are fictitious. (I love writing fiction!) If you can tell me which three, then I won't ever bother you again.


1. The minutes just before sunrise are always full of hope.
2. An exciting idea is that Mayan temples were built by direct descendants of the people who built the tower of Babel. Think about that!
3. I haven't had a Coca-Cola product since 1997.
4. I’ll be married 42 years this month. (Subject to change every November 15.) I still love My First Wife.
5. Three kids and nine grandkids. I want them to have roots. I want them to have wings.
6. Born and raised a Baptist. Now a Pentecostal.
7. Currently attending a Baptist Church because that's where the Lord said to go.
8. Preferred denomination: Four Square.
9. I was born and raised in the Arizona desert.
10. Always a Barry Goldwater-Jack Kemp-Ronald Reagan conservative Republican.
11. I'm unique—just like everybody else.
12. My First Wife and I are a Host Friendship Couple to two Chinese college students. We love 'em.
13. My immediate family includes Italian, Anglo, Japanese, Black, Chinese, y una Mexicana unica. (Us, Kids and in-laws, Grandkids)
14. When I get to heaven, I'd like to see replays of creation, the flood, the demise of dinosaurs, and the dispersing of people.
15. I've written more than 30 technical manuals and user guides.
16. I have one published article on the Internet; several other articles in magazines and newspapers.
17. I wrote two plays. One was produced; the other is waiting. Can you guess which one?
18. Mickey Mantle was one of my friends when we lived in Dallas, Texas.
19. I was in the restaurant industry for 17 years (fine dining) and have served many high-profile people. A team of four of us servers once received a $1,600 tip from one party. The largest single tip I received is $250 from a party of four.
20. I love a good thunder and lightning storm.
